Privacy Policy

Overview

Proofprint is a human authorship verification platform. We watch how you write — not what you write — to generate a cryptographic proof of human authorship. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what control you have.

What we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We use this to create and manage your account.

Behavioral signals. While you write in the Proofprint editor, we observe six behavioral signals: keystroke dynamics, typing cadence, revision patterns, copy-paste activity, content naturalness indicators, and session continuity. These signals are processed to generate aggregate scores — we do not record individual keystrokes or reconstruct what you typed from behavioral data.

Content. Your unpublished writing is encrypted end-to-end using AES-256-GCM. The encryption key is generated in your browser and wrapped before storage — Proofprint cannot read your unpublished content. If you choose to publish, you explicitly decrypt and submit plaintext, which we store to make it publicly accessible. You can unpublish at any time, which removes the plaintext copy.

Waitlist. If you join our waitlist, we collect and store your email address to notify you when access is available.

How we use your data

We use your data to operate the Proofprint service: generating verification scores, creating cryptographic proofs, managing your account, and displaying your published content (when you choose to publish). We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your content to train machine learning models.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate Proofprint: Vercel (hosting and serverless compute), Neon (PostgreSQL database), and Google (OAuth authentication). Each of these providers has their own privacy policies governing how they handle data that passes through their infrastructure.

Data retention

Proofprint is currently in active development and private preview. We retain your account data, verification records, and encrypted content for as long as your account exists. Behavioral signal data used to compute scores is not stored after scores are generated. If you want your account and data deleted, contact us at support@proofprint.io.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (session management via NextAuth.js). We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, which may set cookies for performance monitoring. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@proofprint.io. You can unpublish any published content at any time, which removes the plaintext copy from our servers. You can delete your account by contacting us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Significant changes will be communicated to registered users via email. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
